book a reading

tarot does not exist in a vacuum. i am queer, Black, mentally ill, currently able-bodied, a US citizen, a native English speaker, neurodivergent, and several other identities, all of which are lenses through which i read tarot. i also acknowledge the prioritization of privileged identities in the cis able hetero white supremacist society we live in, including in parts of the tarot space.

tarot as an intuitive practice

some people view tarot as a spiritual or witchy medium. i connect with some pagan practices and some parts of astrology, but i also believe tarot can be used for self-exploration without attention to planetary transits or spiritual energies.

i interpret cards through a lens that values rest, reflection, and connection. my readings focus on generating self-compassion and holding one’s intuition as sacred. i’ve learned that the body’s sensations, emotions, and urges are information, and tarot can help people approach that information with curiosity.

“How can we possibly feel oneness with the universe if we aren’t creating any inner space to really listen to what the universe if trying to tell us?”

—Yumi Sakugawa

every tarot reader has a different way of approaching the craft. to understand what a reading from me might entail, here are a few values i hold close as i read tarot:

tarot as building a relationship with the cards

each card is a part of the story of a deck. in reading multiple cards, a journey unfolds. in my experience, patterns often appear when pulling cards to better inform me of my situation.

when i read tarot cards, the cards are neither good nor bad. while they can be a source of awakening, such as realizing that you still haven’t learned a previous life lesson, or affirming that you are moving in the right direction, the cards themselves are not positive nor negative.

tarot as subjective

the death card does not mean you are going to die, nor does the nine of swords mean you are hopeless. each card appears to help us reflect before re-engaging with our lives. you may be experiencing a difficult situation when seeking a reading, and the cards that appear may seem direct, but they are not here to harm you.

i offer handwritten or emailed readings
